Ginny Maddock is a versatile and sensitive artist and collaborator. With a B.M. in Jazz Studies and Vocal Performance from Ithaca College, she is well-versed in both contemporary and classical vocal literature, as well as jazz, many world music styles, and musical theater repertoire. She has an experiential background in Feldenkrais bodywork and incorporates this smoothly into her work as a performer and an educator. She is also earning her license to practice Somatic Stress Release. She is an active member of JEN (Jazz Education Network) and MTNA (Music Teachers National Association).
Ginny has significant experience as a performer, vocal coach, and collaborative pianist. She spent 3 years as a member of the Voice Faculty at Flight Voice Studio in Ithaca, NY where she taught private lessons, workshops, and group classes. She then spent a little over a year serving on the Voice & Piano Faculty at Expressions Music Academy in Herndon, VA. She has worked extensively as a vocal and music educator in both group settings and one-on-one. Her goal as an educator is to help her students utilize and respect their entire body as their instrument and use this knowledge to build strong technique that can be used in any style. She has also found a love for teaching piano and working with younger students to develop early musical skills.
She is currently the music director and soloist at St. David’s Episcopal Church and Preschool in Ashburn, VA, where she has opened her private studio.
